Yay Freedom!

Freedom has settled into his forever home quite well. He has a vet visit coming up, and has settled into pasture with his new gelding friends. He is enjoying riding with his new partner, and is adjusting very well to his new home. Thank you Kathleen for giving this amazing man the best forever home !

Welcome Summerlea

We got a call today about a possibly pregnant kitty that snuck into a Brampton Warehouse. She is semi-feral (not the biggest fan of people, but LOVES other cats). We found an XL Crate that we have set up and covered to make her feel safe, and allows our house kitties to visit with her.

Freya’s Happy Ending

A happy ending sometimes takes time, although we are so excited to share the happy news of Freya being adopted.

Freya came to Storm Haven as a very scared 2-year old who had been discarded for reasons we will never know or understand.

What she experienced in her first two years of life will always be a mystery, although when she arrived in rescue she would rather run through a fence than be close to people. Any interaction she had experienced with people had not been positive and she took a very long time to begin trusting anyone.

So we gave her time. Time to relax, time to settle and time without ANY expectations. It has been two-years (YES – TWO YEARS) of patience, love and understanding, She now patiently stands for the farrier, loads, bathes, and responds to verbal and physical cues without concern. She walks, jogs (trots), lopes (canters) inside an arena, out on a trail, alone and with other horses. She is not nervous around equipment, dogs, other horses or new people. She is confident and has experienced enough in her two years in rescue that she is ready to venture out to new experiences.

She has found her special home, with Jana and her 10-year old daughter who are showering her with lots of Tender Love and Care (as well as lots of braids…lol). We are so glad we were able to help you on your journey Freya….be good and enjoy your new family.

Prim – now Reese, found her home!

Prim has found her forever home, and has settled in well over the holidays.

Prim came to the island in November from an Ontario shelter that was unable to assist her in training and rehoming. Prim has joined a wonderful family in Summerside, and is enjoying her new life on the island. She has been renamed to Reese, and is loved by Michael and his two teenage children. Reese loves daily cuddles with her family, treats and her daily walks. This high-energy girl has found her special forever home.

We are so happy we were able to transport, vet, train and rehome Reese during these difficult times. It was a pleasure meeting and helping you along your journey. Be good and enjoy the love you truly deserve.
